Control test

Same prompt, two models.

Same words, same 16:9 canvas, same negative prompt. The only variables are the model and the sampler settings each model needs.

The brief

What both models saw

A cinematic night photograph of a lone figure in a black coat standing beneath a transparent umbrella at the end of a rain-soaked neon alley in future Tokyo. The figure is small in the frame, facing away, silhouetted against a wall of magenta and cyan signage. Wet asphalt mirrors the signs in broken streaks; steam rises from a grate; cables and air conditioners crowd the upper frame. Composition: 35mm eye-level, one-point perspective, figure on the lower third, deep negative space. Lighting: magenta and cyan neon, a single warm tungsten door light, anamorphic flare, deep inky blacks. Texture: rain, wet metal, condensation, film grain. Mood: lonely, cinematic, nocturnal. Ultra detailed, photorealistic, no text, no watermark.

Negative prompt

blurry, out of focus, low detail, smeared texture, plastic, over-smoothed, CGI, illustration, painting, cartoon, anime, text, watermark, logo, signature, frame, border, oversaturated, deformed, extra limbs, distorted hands, low contrast, banding, noise

01

FLUX.3 Klein reads the brief literally: a centred figure, transparent umbrella, readable signage and a clear one-point alley. It holds the composition and delivers the most detail in 16 steps.

02

Moss Image on its reference sampler (er_sde / beta) now holds the figure and alley too, but renders it darker and more atmospheric: the figure sits right of centre, signage compresses into vertical bands, and fog and reflections take over.

03

The useful split: Flux for controlled composition and clarity; Moss for mood, weather and negative space.

01

er_sde / beta holds the figure, umbrella and readable alley. This is the reference sampler and should be the default.

02

euler / beta is also coherent, with more saturation and harder neon contrast. A good alternate look.

03

dpmpp_2m / karras at CFG 4.5 collapses the scene into vertical streaks and loses the subject.
